REFORMER CLASSES

Cheshire Pilates are pleased to announce that we are now offering Pilates Reformer classes; please phone for details or to book onto a class.

The Pilates Reformer – Short cut to a great body or torture bed?

The Pilates Reformer is one of the main pieces of large equipment used in a pilates studio. On first sight, the Reformer might resemble something you would expect to find in a torture chamber with its springs, pulleys and attachments but don’t let that put you off! It is in fact, one of the most efficient and effective ways to improve your core strength, flexibility and mobility. If a great body and flat stomach are what you are after, then you will definitely see great results with regular Reformer classes.

The Reformer is made up of a horizontal carriage that glides forward and backward on rollers. Resistance is provided via a pulley and spring system which allows a wide variety of exercises to be performed in many positions, such as seated, standing, kneeling and lying down. The resistance can be used to aid the execution of the exercise but can also be used to intensify it.

The Reformer is a perfect rehabilitation tool when used on a one-on-one basis, but is equally effective for small group exercise that can offer a more intensive workout than pilates on the mat. The versatility of the Reformer means that it can be used by most people, from those seeking rehabilitation following illness or surgery, to professional athletes and anyone in between.

Pilates Reformer lessons are now available from Cheshire Pilates. For bookings or more information, please contact us on 07917 445506.
